The Southern Stroke Forum is a multi – professional group of Nurses and Allied Health Professionals who work in stroke services across the south including Hampshire, The Isle of Wight, Berkshire and Oxfordshire.
The Southern Stroke Nurse Forum, over the last year have been developing a set of Competencies for the majority of staff working across the Stroke Pathway which complement the recommendations in the Stroke Specific Education Framework.
As part of the work of the forum, this website has been designed to help all staff working across the stroke pathway to recognise the usefulness of competencies as part of continued professional development, education and training.
Over the past year the Southern Stroke Forum has developed a set of Concise Guides which includes information and guidance on specific competencies required in the management and treatment of Strokes.
Several Organisation across the south were ‘early implementers’ of the Concise Guides, including Portsmouth, Winchester, The IOW and Southampton.
Currently the forum is rolling out training to staff working across the stroke pathway across the south of England.
